hey everybody us as daniel again uh so so you guys are asking an about making games in blender uh especially one or two point five or two point six um so i thought i'd leave you guys little short tutorial a real series come explaining some of the basics of this um an the story was is gonna make a a real simple r. p. g. game um just some some simple manoeuvring and interactions or actions and stuff stuff um so yeah and this first part discuss comes how to talk about daring or inks setup up make sure nothing's ring's going on right right um first first off you need need blunder um i'm i'm using using two point six wanna one believe believe the most recent as of this time yeah two point point six months and um and i that already set up here so that i'm am on g. l. s. l. i'm also in the game logic logic tab here and then uh using blender games a of the renderer or or they just come as much of a more streamlined line uh alright right um oh i think ever ever to god yeah i the only a user preferences under addons and the game engine there's just one to that allows you to save your game as a runtime time that's there as well the about about checked okay and then all those as like of those all set up just coming here and you save user are settings on a delete everything inning here alright right uh and then here's where am my working directory right now for my game is going to be alright right so we're we're just your gonna a couple folders or for the first of week old lenses is case or a keep all of our one files um the a next file out folder recall mccall call some textures um actually we have for now all right so is to make sure things up and running correctly correctly i was gonna make a real simple scene here um are gonna really going on to depths on how what what i'm doing we're gonna do that later um the basically i'm gonna add a plane for for for i gonna give it a a textured finished is real some sample poll nothing fancy use good looks and yellow uh i ah right a but easy and uh well there we go take take down the specular there alright right an and i'm going to to add a cube right and then i'm going to just give it a texture as well um there's something different you know not up to being leaving fancy there are you you know unofficially the a feel us so we going to shading motivating is blackness spears p. as i don't have a light so whatever are i what i now now a like here we have words can an you say um um spotlight light this time i will give us a cool um some cool shadows which everybody like cheryl's shadows right and uh let's see it's gonna gonna come a i i have a little here and don't uh my and i spent all a lot of time on this there are we go i should probably be can an uh uh there's a nationwide order don't of i okay there we we go know alright right so you just got a simple set up here not everyone rib messing s. in with fixing in the show them them all that at it doesn't that have to be perfect this is just to make sure that you know i a game engine is working and uh uh then automation slim am make show we can export the game because that's kind of important i was as good and and do that and we got a little spinning cute guy there are alright has as gotten had a camera quick to do you whoops do do do own there we we go concerns concern as caspian even there's there's just as but basically basically you just gonna wanna make something thing that who's around um an easy easy way lady to that as as once you get this cube here and you're in the school um um this'll all tab here logic editor or or so you can i take it always ways sincere erm meeting it it always does whatever ever is over here basically and this case restoring as stalking it to turn one degree per frame on the z. axis all right uh and then when you have camera or put in they can see that pro really simple so i will but more like a they one a week we and and all right there was a coming here here to the export and x. or game engine an runtime time tutorial tour a all and spare parent n. a here here as game and alright right um or discovery this uh be python if you you know you're your the person you're given they came to whoever's were ever is looking at it has python installed you'll need need that but not most people have not really people have python installed um so it's go ahead make a python full holder are one do you that uh and save image in runtime time when it comes to have actually finish the game o'shea locally openly can you to make it look a little nicer uh uh um as far as hiding some of that alright right this'll be be this thing out a couple minutes there we go know and i had had an executable a abel file and then this two point six one file okay this has all the python stuff that we just export export it okay um all these little things people might need i have no idea why but you never know alright all right so if we should be able just places places is press enter doubleclick clique clique whatever uh if you come up and now looks familiar at about the same as we we have before so that means we're doing go there alright right now regarding guarding ring setup up we can actually start start diving in a two oops a little little project here gonna in the delete lead these two and uh we're gonna go ahead make the player uh so so abound i make a new one here are either there because goes you can see we've got a brand new set up because because at least a dollar all are savings over or there are uh you make sure really angela so so yeah a real you know alright right so just like before we make make a new plane okay cordoned cordoned scalable abide by twenty press as for scaling an than type and two zero it's one two alright right it looks a little big but you'll still l. be just alright right um and going and press shift energy or ego going neared here go go ahead and uh which which is my my yeah know the back okay uh let's give give it a textural rick quicken just can the grass texture or we only the worry about naming it or anything um because it's just extra um were in in the bleeding leading and a little bit anyways so an an again can take up the specular pictures are not shiny it's gradually usually some shiny and they were going data at a queue g. e. an impressive press is c. u. for olympus limb is e. x. s. and hold whole down the control button so so it's actually a great re in three guess guesses as just above there i you can give if it another other texture another an material material rather and again get i don't really lee matter we we give it don't really need name in or anything ink it's just here because oh i said so and then um press press shift deed to duplicate anywhere i was is gonna make a couple of these use around here i'm am kinda leaning the the centre area open because that's where are players or is going to be um a mystical to i up appear here just so that to we can uh um when it if if we need to alright rights sightings i think you you get a little lightly we populated little level here um obviously t. say say i don't do anything sane they just stand there and the right would people they just power blocks that's cool um go ahead and push if they create another layer up and this time we're just gonna use a hemi lamp okay a can pull up a little bit press a uh a all to busy you to go into to you shaded mode yeah whatever uh right right they were in a rotating a press press r. and then i we'll do rotate take eight x. well did forty five degrees for five but at a busy forty five so i it can i got it off at an angle their there law that would give us a nice correlating lading aiding for maybe be like in uh uh i don't don't know some on daytime i'm thing you could even change a little more to make makes some there we go hole that they're are distinction there are alright all right so there's is a basic sick level and now we're going to add the player and will be done so let's as go another uh the player here going and top the u. shift a mash cube there their we go now this key was exactly same same as as of the other ones is but since you're going to be a person you're gonna need a to be able little taller all or so going to grab those and just there press the g. and then press the c. a. g. from uzi for it um as the axis and we have to post a box there are okay it's that's twice twice as tall as everything else um this is it it also is a nice shape for humanoid human elite character character you could fit in there you you know that's so what we're doing or i here is basically to se make and then a box outline of the character okay uh and then because because a our origin jenner right here hear the pointer in a a rotating around the the point is is really paying attention to is actually two level within wait it in the centre or so compressed press t. with the selected and then origin according gin to d. r. three that means it goes to the centre of the jealous which rewrote your the the some um mashed we have there alright uh a pretty simple that way and now we're gonna do it's go ahead in because because this is our player or an he's is got important port the we we need actually keep em preston tomorrow tomorrow well the the bleeding eating at b. and uh well according to this file um so we're gonna do do is go ahead and give him him a name breeze object object raiders here's askew cue eleven leaven basically it q. point oh well well one one we're going and and uh player are okay so we have something refer back to if we need to later um and then in the materials give any immaterial material and call this player player or as well alright i again get as as a only marathon i was a looks like because it's going to be invisible on the final annals game anyways ways not really really wanting to you can look at a game engine it but it just just don't on look like that so now we have our basic character was going an at a camera and will be finished here for this one i wanna press press shift day just like yeah whatever oily layer or times and and pressed a camera or and we should uh uh if you press alt or at all reset reset set the rotation everything everything i nor in right right a on the x. t. go x. axis ninety degrees makes seats it's kinda like the be you could do you these do you t. these you brought it up here to a look through here and see you know how does it look how is everything um and you know if you imagine yourself playing the the game how far back which you wanted to be uh personally persian a happily i believe leap durable you're a over of there and you can always uh what's score called with one or two point five and on this will greyed out area once you press p. to start the game if blacks out so you don't have all this extra stuff you really get idea what against get kill the look like which is good um somebody at even like that uh just a little more there we go but alright right so it looks pretty good for a basic setup up and that's at at syphilis it for this time on the next one will come back and talk about um how to make the character move around a little bit at
